Congratulations to our unique season of “The Swan Princess”! We appreciate you all sharing your artistry with us.
Here are a few reminders for casting.
1. Please let other cast members find out for themselves. This includes posts on social media. On Thursday September 4th we will be taking headshots for casting announcements.
2. Here are a few professional tips after a cast list is announced.
Be Gracious, No Matter What
- If you’re cast in the role you wanted: Express gratitude and excitement to the director and cast members. Show appreciation for the opportunity.
- If you didn’t get the role you hoped for: Congratulate those who were cast, and avoid negative comments or attitudes. It’s okay to feel disappointed, but it’s important to keep that to yourself or share it privately with trusted friends or mentors.
Offer Congratulations to Your Castmates
-
We hope you are excited about your role but regardless, congratulating others creates a positive environment. Being supportive can foster teamwork and improve morale. This also reflects well on you as a team player. Be sure not to mention their role in your messages in case they have not yet seen results.
- Respect the Director’s Decision
Directors and casting teams make decisions based on many factors, including voice, character portrayal, and overall fit for the show. Even if you don’t understand the casting choice, it’s essential to respect the director’s vision.
Look Forward to Future Opportunities
Remind yourself that this isn’t the only opportunity. There will be other productions, auditions, and chances to shine. Keep learning, stay dedicated to improving your craft, and focus on what’s next!
By following these tips, you’ll maintain a level of professionalism that will not only help you on this particular production but will also leave a lasting, positive impression on your peers, directors, and future collaborators.
If your name is misspelled or you spot anything you feel may be an error, please reach out to CS@centerstage.academy right away.
We are excited to see all cast at our first rehearsal on Thursday September 4th from 6:30-8:30pm. Please be prepared to take headshots for marketing and casting announcements. An email about dress that day will follow.
Without further ado, I extend my love and congratulations to our cast of The Swan Princess!
