Dramatics Shrek Jr. Welcome Packet!

Dear Dramatics Families,

We are so excited to officially welcome you to our Dramatics season! We have an amazing group of young performers! Last week we began with getting to know you games, ice breakers, and began studying our audition dance “Freak Flag”! This week we will finish off our dance auditions in class! Students should wear all black athletic clothing (or CSA Royal Blue/Navy if you are celebrating Chinese New Year)! We will begin classes with a warm up, casual headshots and a full review of the audition dance. We will finish classes with small group dance auditions!

Please take a moment to review the packet carefully, as it will answer many common questions as we move into auditions and casting.

A few important reminders for this week:

  • Casting auditions will take place this Saturday, the 21st. Please see packet page 9 for scheduling information. Students need to prepare: 
    • A brief monologue
    • Approximately 60 seconds of singing

CSA – Welcome to Sherk, Jr!

Welcome to the new season: Shrek, Jr! Classes start this week and we couldn’t be more excited.

Welcome packets will arrive in your inbox later this week. In the meantime, here is what you need to know for first week of class!

What to bring: 
– A non-spill (please no side handle with straw Stanleys) water bottle labeled with your child’s name on it.
– Jazz shoes (if you have them). Please do not purchase NEW jazz shoes until after casting when shoe assignments come out. Please make sure these are labeled as well!

What to wear:
– Please wear your favorite dance attire. This can include Leotards or dance shirts and dance skirts, shorts, or leggings.
– Please no dresses or jeans.

What to expect:
Our first day will be filled with fun get to know you activites, learning songs & dances from our Shrek, Jr show.

Now Open: Dramatics Registration for Shrek Jr.!

We are so excited to announce that Dramatics registration (ages 9-11) is now open for our upcoming production of Shrek Jr.!This is going to be an incredible season of growth, teamwork, and theatrical magic for our performers.

Current Availability

  • Tuesday class: Only 10 spots remaining
  • Wednesday & Friday classes: Still open

Spots are filling quickly, especially on Tuesdays, so we encourage families to register soon if you are hoping for a specific day.

Important Dates & Details

  • First Week of Classes: Week of February 9th
  • Auditions: February 21st
    Time slots available between 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Dress Rehearsals:
    • April 21st | 4:30–6:30 PM
    • April 28th | 4:30–6:30 PM
  • Show Run: May 11th – May 16th

Please note: Dramatics is a no-cut program. Every student who registers is cast in the musical—whether in a lead role or as part of our spectacular ensemble. Auditions help us place students where they can shine and grow the most.

This production is a wonderful opportunity for students to build confidence, strengthen their acting, singing, and dancing skills, and experience the excitement of being part of a full musical from start to finish.
