Theatricks Welcome Packet

Dear Theatricks Families,

We are so excited to officially welcome you to our Theatricks season! We have an amazing group of young performers! Last week we began with getting to know you games, ice breakers, and began studying our audition dance “Freak Flag”! This week we will finish off our dance auditions in class! Students should wear all black athletic clothing (or CSA Royal Blue/Navy if you are celebrating Chinese New Year)! We will begin classes with a warm up, casual headshots and a full review of the audition dance. We will finish classes with small group dance auditions!

Please take a moment to review the packet carefully, as it will answer many common questions as we move into auditions and casting. You may notice that this season we have scheduled fewer Saturday rehearsals. We instead would like to have some weekly combined rehearsals nearer the end of the season. Those dates are included in the packet. Please note that additional rehearsals and our Spring showcase may be added, however we will work our hardest to give at least 2-weeks notice for these additions. 

A few important reminders for this week:

•Casting auditions will take place this Saturday, the 21st. Please see packet page 9 for scheduling information. Students need to prepare:

CSA – Welcome to Sherk, Jr!

Welcome to the new season: Shrek, Jr! Classes start this week and we couldn’t be more excited.

Welcome packets will arrive in your inbox later this week. In the meantime, here is what you need to know for first week of class!

What to bring: 
– A non-spill (please no side handle with straw Stanleys) water bottle labeled with your child’s name on it.
– Jazz shoes (if you have them). Please do not purchase NEW jazz shoes until after casting when shoe assignments come out. Please make sure these are labeled as well!

What to wear:
– Please wear your favorite dance attire. This can include Leotards or dance shirts and dance skirts, shorts, or leggings.
– Please no dresses or jeans.

What to expect:
Our first day will be filled with fun get to know you activites, learning songs & dances from our Shrek, Jr show.
